Junghee Lee tried to divide a large floor space into several small spaces. For this purpose, the architect set the basic direction as a skip floor, and it is a two-story building, but it actually became a space of four floors up to the outside deck on the roof. The House for Contemporary Art

This home was designed for an art appreciator and amateur artist who wanted a “house like an art museum”. Planned with careful consideration for air circulation as well as for the harsh, snowy climate of the Japan Sea coast, the structure is composed of white boxes of varying scale that frame spaces like pictures. One of the main concepts is 'Seamless Spatial Composition'. You can circulate through the spaces in this home looking at the owner’s collection of artwork just as if you were passing through galleries in a museum.

garden cube

Stone Plant Sculpture is a minimal garden formed as a cube measuring 130 by 130 by 130 centimetres. One half is a block of Jurassic limestone, cut in a quarry in southern Germany. The visible stone surfaces are chiselled and brushed to give an aged look. The other half is made of four yew plants, pruned to the final size after planting. An almost diagonal line marks the joint between stone and plant. The design is a European interpretation of Japanese Zen gardens. The cube stands on a flat lawn and needs low maintenance.

Re-leaf

Re-Leaf is an ecological tree pool designed for streets and public spaces. Fallen leaves are gathered inside the semi-enclosed basin, where rain and snow compact them until they decompose. The rotted leaves act as a natural fertilizer that increases soil nutrients and supports tree growth. The semi-closed form also reduces water runoff and helps protect soil moisture. Re-Leaf is made of cast iron and consists of four identical parts, which are joined before installation around a tree. The tree pool measures 1300 by 1300 by 250 millimetres.

Chapel on the Hill

After standing derelict for more than 40 years, a dilapidated Methodist chapel in the north of England has been transformed into a self-catering holiday home for 7 people. This 19th century building is located in a rural English countryside offering panoramic views to the rolling hills and the beautiful countryside.

Neumatt

Neumatt Sports Center is a three-pitch sports hall in Strengelbach, Switzerland. Inside, green, yellow, red, orange and blue are used both as decoration and as a navigation system, and changing rooms are identified by color instead of numbers. The glazed upper level uses capillary glass that brings daylight deep into the hall and reduces glare. A geothermal heat pump heats the building in winter and cools it in summer, so air conditioning is not required. The rendered base carries a pattern of sport icons.
