Yulonghu

Yulonghu is a community center built in Xuzhou, China, next to the Dalong Lake Scenic Area. The plan follows the ritual architecture of the Han dynasties, with a central main hall and a progressive courtyard layout. Visitors pass an entrance lobby, an axial garden, a water garden and a curved bridge before reaching the main building beside the river. The base columns are made of white linen stone, while the entrance arch and the roof grille use copper-like brushed aluminum panels. The design joins local cultural tradition with modern construction methods.

Guobin Road

Sunac Guobin Road is a residential complex located at the foot of Nanyue Mountain in Guiyang. The site lies where the city meets nature and where the old city meets the new city. The buildings face the Nanming River and follow the slope through multi-level platforms, which solve the complex height differences of the terrain. The terrain also reduces road noise from the east. Stone and glass curtain walls are used, with creamy-white and dark gray tones. Vertical components and floating plates form the tops of the buildings and extend the view toward the landscape.

Hebei Hua Ao Hospital

Hebei Hua Ao Hospital is a trauma treatment center built in Zhangjiakou, China. The design concept is a snow ribbon, expressed as a horizontal facade with window heights that change with orientation and function. The varied windows control sun shading and daylight and reduce the need for air conditioning. Solar collector panels on the roof save electric energy. Waiting seats are arranged in enclosed groups to encourage communication, and artworks and landscape features are placed indoors to help patients feel calm. The hospital combines treatment, rehabilitation and education functions.

Qingdao Pingdu Olympic Center

Qingdao Pingdu Olympic Center is a sports complex built in Pingdu, Qingdao, Shandong Province, China. The complex holds a stadium with 15,000 seats, a basketball hall with 7,000 seats and a natatorium with 1,500 seats. The basketball hall and the swimming pool are combined into one building, which reduces the difference in scale between the volumes and saves land for squares and internal roads. Core spaces and auxiliary spaces are separated, so structural spans are shorter and construction is simpler. The plan also supports flexible daily use after events.

Rencent Office Center

Rencent Office Center is an office building on the coast of Qingdao. The building slabs are extended in line with the surrounding shoreline, echoing the terrain and the nearby buildings. Sea view windows are set between the slabs like floating boxes. Facing the city, the facade is treated as a scene frame with a diagonal cut. Only three materials are used: glass, stone and dark metal. A sunken plaza resolves the two story height difference across the site and improves the circulation of the building spaces.

D525 Barcelona

D525 Barcelona is an office building created through the sustainable renovation of an existing structure from the 1970s. The project covers 7,000 square meters and holds ten levels of offices and networking areas. The main facade combines large windows with photocatalytic Krion three-dimensional modules that help purify the air. Photovoltaic louvers on the south facade give shade in warm months and generate clean energy. A roof garden planted with low-consumption native species adds insulation and improves the local microclimate.
