International Islands Tourism Conference

International Islands is a conference center located in Zhoushan, Zhejiang Province, China. The Maritime Silk Road is the main theme of the design. The building form derives from Tang and Song traditions and adopts the classic ratio and pattern of the roof and wall of the Tang Dynasty. Slightly inclined walls follow the traditional method of thick lower pillars and thin upper pillars. White stone at the base contrasts with the natural-color cornice. The spanning form links the mountains with the sea, and an open landscape corridor brings greenery to the city.

Entry Building to Sberbank

Entry Building to Sberbank is an entrance building for two adjoining high-rise office towers in Moscow. The building encloses the space between the towers with a hyperbolic paraboloid form, built from 29 steel arches and covered by a glazed triangulated roof. The shape brings daylight inside while limiting sunlight obstruction to the lower office floors. Three floors hold reception areas, restaurants, coffee shops, a conference centre and an event space shaped as a stepped amphitheatre. Both ends are crowned with champagne-coloured stainless steel panels.

Nine Court Mansion

Nine Court Mansion is a residential landscape design located in Chongqing, China. The project covers 11952.75 square meters and includes hard pavement, green areas and water features. The spatial layout is inspired by the structure of the Forbidden City. A central axis links three groups of spaces that guide residents from the entrance to the home. Traditional elements such as pitched roofs and dragon scales are simplified in shape and material, and carving is used instead of printing. Plant communities create a green microclimate for daily life.

Cloud of Luster

The Cloud of luster is a wedding chapel located inside a wedding ceremony hall in Himeji city, Japan. The design tries to translate the modern wedding ceremony spirit into physical space. The chapel is all white, a cloud shape enveloped almost entirely in curved glass opening it to the surrounding garden and water basin. The columns are toped in hyperbolic capital like heads smoothly connecting them to the minimalistic ceiling. The chapel socle on the basin side is a hyperbolic curve allowing the whole structure to appear as if it is floating on the water and accentuate its lightness.

Hill Wind

Hill Wind is a resort hotel located in Anji County, Huzhou. The external form follows modern architectural thinking, with geometric cloud shapes drawn from the origami concept and extended into irregular volumes. A white membrane material is joined to these forms through structural changes. Inside, a narrow entrance passage creates a deep sense of space, and a continuously flowing ceiling is shaped and stitched by craftsmen. Bamboo and wood from the Anji area are used as building materials. The project covers 3500 square meters and echoes the surrounding natural landscape.
