Feng Qi Wu Tong integrates Su style and Tang Dynasty architecture with modern design contexts and construction techniques to build a fine community that meets the interests and needs of modern residents. The overall landscape of the model area adopts the form of one axis and three courtyards, with a central symmetry, creating a sense of ritual outside with Confucian rituals, and following the beauty of mood inside.
Continue readingThe Bamboo Pavilion is a public renovation project that is designed to subvert the perception of a typical public bathroom in Macau, which is dirty, wet and smelly. The original facility was an enclosed building setting apart from the natural surroundings. The Bamboo Pavilion, a new design, is built on top of the existing structure and foundation. The idea is to reconnect the broken link between culture, human and nature in a public facility by reorganizing the plan to enhance functionalities and by applying bamboo-like construction tectonics to correspond with its natural surroundings.

The outdated image, depressed tonality, and precipitated vicissitudes of the existing building are no longer in line with young people who are trying to be innovative in the new era. Upgrading the appearance of the old buildings, reshaping the city's image, stimulating the vitality of the community, and providing urban young people with a warm home with a story and a dream become a new topic faced by the project.

The project features a strong spatial concept: the R and D function as two externally invisible black boxes utilizing daylighting, and the common space between the two black boxes is shared by all departments. The key design goal of the project is to present the brand and culture of a tech manufacturer that takes pride in creativity and collaboration.

For its execution, materials of strict respect for the environment have been used and it has been carried out with a comprehensive environmental quality management plan, incorporating all the construction requirements to achieve Leed Gold certification.

However, the house has been dilapidated due to years of wandering. The purpose of this renovation is to create a living space suitable for the modern lifestyle for the client. Mirror glass is used on the ground and walls of the yard. The unique reflectivity of the material allows the surrounding hutongs, trees, and sky to be reflected on the ground of the yard, which brings more possibilities to space.
