Mijan

Drawing inspiration from local buildings with sloping roofs, this architectural design blends traditional and modern elements. The wooden sloping roof provides a cozy atmosphere inside and a striking shape outside. Adding modern touches created a design that harmoniously blends with the surroundings. The solid form feels powerful and safe, while the fluid and corner shapes, warm colors, and unique floor materials inside create a cozy feel. The second conventional area elevates the viewer's eye level, presenting different points of view.

Kirin Island

Kirin Island is an exhibition center in Jining, Shandong Province, China. The building forms the first phase of an industrial park. The design follows the idea of a round sky and a square earth, so a square building holds a round courtyard. A frame-shear wall structure with a span of 18.6 metres creates indoor space without pillars. Overhangs of 10.3 metres on the north and south sides form semi-outdoor areas.

The pavilion contains a snack bar, a beverage table, a bathroom and rest steps. The design explores the softness of concrete and frames selected views of the surrounding landscape.

Municipal Art Society Headquarters

The Municipal Art Society is a nonprofit organization in New York City that encourages thoughtful planning and urban design. The architect designed a building where a gradual change of privacy is clearly stated: from the public half-underground café to the office on the fourth floor. Among all the programs, the civic forum is the most important, which is completely exposed to the neighborhood and designed in a truly welcoming gesture geometrically and spatially to encourage all citizens to interact and participate for the great cause of preserving the rich history and culture of the city.
