Black Eagle

The scenery surrounding Selva of Val Gardena, Italy creates some of the most picturesque landscapes in the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites, projecting imagery that is mostly seen in oil canvas paintings. The project encompasses modern and traditional alpine architecture, marrying each type into one cohesive form. The strong use of local materials grounds the house onto the site merging it with the landscape. Each material has its own unique texture to match the earthy colors and natural surroundings. The house was constructed according to high energy efficiency standards.

Loyly

With Loyly Helsinki offers foreign visitors a public sauna experience, a must when visiting Finland. The building was designed slim and elongated so as not to cut the narrow park. The volume is kept as low as possible so that it doesn't block views from the future residential blocks. The sauna is developed into an easy-going, faceted construction that is more part of the park than a conventional building. When the wooden building turns gray, it will become more like a rock on the shoreline. The project was first fully FSC-certified building in F inland and second in Scandinavia.

Villafound Jade Hotel Lijiang

The Villafound Jade in Lijiang is located at Yuhu Village, which is a picturesque village beside a lake and under Yulong Snow Mountain. Villafound Jade is composed of 13 detached villas, including a folk custom museum, a restaurant with tea bar, and the rest is lodging areas. In term of architecture intervention, the architect applied Naxi residence elements largely and maintained the rustic beauty of Naxi traditional dwellings, meanwhile, modern design method was used to meet the demand of living comfort for contemporary people, purposing to create a perfect and balanced luxury retreat.

Yukyu En

“Yukyu En”, Garden of Eternity, consists of six gardens. Each plays a unique role in the process of saying goodbye to a loved one. The main garden is a modern kare-sansui viewing garden named “Tabidachi no iwa”, Garden for Setting Off on a Journey. The front part represents the present life, while the rare part, which features a single tree among the rocks and gravels, is the afterlife. The white sand that connects two parts represents the mythical river, where the dead move to the afterlife. Another garden, which reflects the changing sky in the pool, reminds the transience of life.

City Lounge, St. Gallen

The granulated rubber flooring unifies every square and spared spot of the Raiffeisen quarter into a homogeneous whole. A particularly identity-building feature is its function as a haptically pleasant, cosy red carpet, that unfolds over the entire furniture. With its soft, pleasing material haptics, the amorphous silhouettes of the furniture present a deliberate contrast to the hard precision of the built surroundings.
